Sisal.
Sisal belongs to the family of Agavaceae (Agave),which started growing in the arid zones of north and central America. The plant is characterized by its long leaves which grow over a meter in length.
The fiber was introduced in the East African countries and later became the major cultivators and processors of sisal. The main sisal producing countries are Tanzania and Kenya. Our products are manufactured using the sisal imported from Tanzania.
Sisal fiber is completely biodegradable and exceptionally durable. It has minimal wear and tear. Sisal fiber doesn’t attract dust particles. It do not absorb moisture or water easily. The fine texture takes dyes easily which makes any different colour combinations possible amongst all natural fibers. Sisal also exhibits, sound and impact absorbing properties.
Wool.
Wool is the dense warm coat of the sheep. The hair of the sheep has many unique properties that make it best suited for textile production. Our products are manufactured using quality wool imported from New Zealand. Wool does not have to be specially treated to become flame resistant, so it is often used for making carpets and rugs for that reason. Wool is highly durable and can be stretched making it elastic too. Wool is the best insulators of moisture and vapor. The scales on outside the fiber cause liquid to roll off the surface of the fabric making it water repellent also.
Wool absorbs noise and reduces noise levels making it ideal for large room space free from eco sound. Another characteristic of wool is its dye-ability. The proteins in the core of the fiber absorb and combine with wide variety of dyes and allow wool to hold its colour. The scales on the surface of wool fiber diffuse light giving less reflection and a softer colour, making wool carpets and rugs fashionable.
Coir.
Coir fiber is obtained from the outer layer of coconut. Coconut is grown extensively in the southern states of India, majorly in Kerala. Kerala is famous in the name “Gods own country”. The outer layer of coconut is called ‘husk”. There are two categories of coir fiber i.e. White coir and brown coir. The fiber extracted from immature husk is known as white fiber ,which is finer than the brown fiber obtained from mature coconuts .Both types of fiber have distinctive application and uses.
Entrance mats made of coir, backed by natural rubber is very good at removing dust and dirt. The natural rubber will stick to the floor making the mat anti skid.
We have a wide range of rubber backed coir mats. Mats are available in standard sizes and also in rolls. |
